Boho-Chic Beach Elopement

Updated: Jun 10

HOLY COW! There are literally no words to describe how blessed I feel after this shoot! This shoot was the perfect example of community over competition, of collaboration, and of boss babes supporting other boss babes.

Guys, networking is huge in the events industry...no...its HUGE for any industry! Get out of your comfort zone, meet new peeps. You'd be surprised where you might end up or who you'll meet!

I could go on and on about this community subject but I'll just save that for another time. And because I'm so flippin excited I might wet my pants a little to share this shoot with you, so let's get to it!

The weather was perfect for our moody, bohemian shoot at Windandsea Beach in La Jolla on May 15th. Prior to the shoot I had connected with Meredith Soychak, an incredibly talented photographer from Colorado. Her and I had similar visions for this shoot so we got to work, planning this shoot in 4 weeks.

One of the biggest part of making this shoot possible was our collaboration with Adore Folklore Rentals. And because of this incredible opportunity with them, I can say they are definitely my TOP recommendation for event rentals. Not only do they have the raddest warehouse full of goodies, but their love for the industry truly shows.

The mixed metals between the silverware and the candle holders along with the wooden table provided a rustic element to the overall chic, bohemian, Moroccan mood. The black plates, grey napkins, small cake and green glasses pulled in the chic elements while the macrame runner and pillows brought in the boho feel. And finally, those adorable poofs gave us the slight Moroccan twist. Thank goodness for our calligrapher's, By Ashlyn C, talented eye for adding the final touches to the tablescape.

Trevor and Pia are such a beautiful couple! Meredith had actually shot with them back in Texas but lucky for us, the two moved to Huntington Beach and met up with us for the shoot. Pia's perfect off-the-shoulder stretch knit dress from Lulu's brought just enough sexiness to the shoot, especially with that side, high slit.

Jordan Hix worked magic with Pia's hair, keeping it long and curly, with the loose fishtail braid adding to the bohemian theme. Makeup by Adrianne's talent of highlighting and enhancing Pia's natural beauty really showed through with Pia's glow.

And thank goodness for Native Poppy and their love for flowers! The bright colors and wild bouquet with a chiffon ribbon gave us a light, airy element that correlated with the chic theme. If you love coffee and pretty things, go do yourself a favor right now and check out Communal Coffee, San Diego, which is where Native Poppy is based out of. It's literally my favorite coffee and tea spot ever because you literally sip your beverage in the cutest place that's filled with flowers and pretty things!

So thankful for the opportunity I had to collaborate and make this shoot possible with all the incredible vendors involved! I hope this shoot inspires you as much as it did for me to create something beautiful and different!
